I decided earlier today that Minc House should submit “Before” and “After” photos to an online media source. Seeing as many of these blogs use newly painted dresser wardrobes or decorated picture frames as “Before” and “After” inspiration, I thought that we might just have a chance of being featured with the overhaul of the 391 North space, now inhabited by The Market. As many of you already know, my boyfriend, Jazu Stine, and good friend, Bart Dery, did the vast majority of the build out of this space including (one of MANY projects) hand-refinishing each individual piece of glass in the transoms that were uncovered when the drop ceiling was removed. Minc House supplied some design decisions along the way, and I was able to help Jazu and Bart in finishing the front half of the floor with the “infamous” paint/dye/glue solution and brown kraft grocery bags. Jazu is now into the third week of the Market being officially open. It is nearly impossible to pull yourself away from such a long and intense process and see a space with fresh eyes when you have spent almost every waking moment there. So, it is (mostly) for Jazu, but also for all of you, that I put together some images of the space before construction, during build out & set-up, and finally, the last few weeks of being open. Thank you to everyone who participated along the way–whether through verbal, moral, or physical support, you helped this project come into fruition! Congratulations to the Market, its employees & supporters for opening its doors. We wish this space and this business great luck to come and success in the years ahead!
