Our friend Kate Landau manages both The Low Anthem and Annie & The Beekeepers. We have worked with The Low Anthem for the past year in creating and printing various products for the band to sell while on tour, and Kate asked us to print a few of our beeswax posters for her other band, Annie & The Beekeepers. The design was created by another artist, Matt Fleming, who is well known for doing graphics for such musicians as Josh Ritter. We are currently in the process of making screens for a three color version of this design but in the mean time here are a few photos of the one color prints. Printed with a cream colored ink on cotton muslin, these textile prints are then dipped in a less refined brown beeswax to stiffen the fabric. It is a perfect concept and product for this “bee-friendly” band! An added benefit–when the finished product is held in front of light a beautiful translucent quality is created and the posters look like they are glowing!
