Friend and ski enthusiast, Scott Jervas, asked Minc House to create a tee for the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Thunderbolt Ski Race, located on the slopes of Mount Greylock. The Thunderbolt ski run was cleared in 1935 when alpine skiing first became popular in the United States. This backwoods ski trail is over a mile and a half long and has a vertical of over 2,000 feet. The 2010 winter marks the 75th anniversary of the ski run’s existence, and the race honors the history of the skiers who have navigated the trail since its birth. These tees honor two of the trail’s most notable skiers, Rudy Konieczny & Greeny Guertin, who first witnessed the clearing of the Thunderbolt and attacked the slopes. This year the race will take place on March 13th. Read more about the trail, the race and its history at the Berkshire Living Blog.
