HUCK AND STUFF

My good friend Huckleberry Delsignore is a very talented artist who lives in Pittsfield, MA. She is currently focused on crocheting amazing animal masks. The masks start as wire forms that she then crochets on and around the wire. She uses yarns that truly express the character of the animal she is creating–white and fluffy for bunnies, ruddy brown and a mix of both short pile and long pile yarns for foxes. Huck also incorporates other hand made elements such as fimo teeth (good ‘n dirty for monster masks) and soft pink felt for tongues (”all the better to eat you with, my dear”). When complete, these masks have a life of their own, and people are always eager to try them on and have their photo taken as “Foxx” or “Uni”. As more people and places approach her for these beautiful creations she asked me to print some labels. So, even when her pieces travel the world (which they often do…NYC, Brooklyn, London), everyone will always know where they came from! Check out Foxx and Uni at her site huckandstuff.com.
