ABOUT MINC HOUSE

printingprocess

Minc House is a small textile and graphic design studio. The business is focused on providing unique textile product development to businesses and organizations that have an artistic eye and inclination. Our graphic design aesthetic grows out of our love and use of screen-printing and block printing techniques. Much of our graphic design is created with the intention of being printed by hand in our studio, and our typical client comes to us looking for this hand-made feel.

OUR MATERIALS

We typically work with clothing blanks from American Apparel and Alternative Apparel. However, we can also do research for other blank products or work with you in contacting a manufacturer who can create exactly what you are looking for. We only use natural fiber fabrics (hemp, linen, and cotton) for home goods and repeat yardage. We like to dye this fabric in-house using vat dye methods and procion dyes. All of our printing is done in-house, by hand (literally, by hand–we do not use presses) with water-based, PVC-free inks. We ask that you appreciate the imperfections of your final product, as these individualities are the marks of a piece that is hand-made, with love, in the US. When you work with us in creating a product you can be confident that you are supporting local manufacturing and production.

If you are interested in a custom product for your business, please contact Jay Hallstein, owner, for an appointment and further information.
